The 3M™ cloth narrow belt 707E measures 1-1/2" x 60" and features P240 grit ceramic abrasive grain blended with premium aluminum oxide for enhanced durability and cutting efficiency compared to non-ceramic abrasives. It is constructed with a flexible JE-weight rayon cloth backing that easily follows contours and wraps around parts, making it suitable for use with soft contact wheels or slack of belt applications. This belt can be used wet or dry and is ideal for stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel, performing tasks such as dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on castings and forgings. A grinding aid incorporated into the belt reduces running temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys like stainless steel, nickel, and cobalt from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. The abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. The ceramic grain is designed through a proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness, and the ceramic/aluminum oxide blend provides a harder, longer-lasting abrasive ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and surface preparation, cutting fast and handling intense heat and stress better than standard aluminum oxide abrasives. The belt is part of a broad selection available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, including wider belts for wide belt sanders used in flat finishing and smoothing rough metal edges.
