The 3M™ cloth belt 302D measures 3 inches by 132 inches and features a P320 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with an open coat construction that helps channel sanding dust away from the belt and workpiece for improved visibility and performance. The abrasive and cloth backing are resin bonded to ensure durability and longevity, allowing the belt to run until the abrasive is completely worn. This belt is recommended for operations requiring added flexibility and is suitable for a wide range of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. Aluminum oxide is known for its cut-rate efficiency, durability, and long life, making it the most commonly used industrial abrasive. The open coat design spaces abrasive grains apart, preventing loading by dust and debris while providing a more aggressive cut compared to closed coat abrasives of the same grade.
