The 3M™ cloth belt 340D measures 37" x 60" and features P100 grit premium grade aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable cotton cloth backing. This open coat, load-resistant belt is designed for aggressive stock removal and is suitable for wide belt sanding, edge sanding, and portable belt sanding applications on wood and metal. It offers durability, resists loading, and is particularly effective on soft woods due to its washable backing, which supports high production environments by allowing intervals of washing to remove resin or pitch buildup. The aluminum oxide mineral is known for fast cutting, long life, and durability, working on a variety of materials including ferrous alloys. Its resin bond withstands high heat and pressure, ensuring continuous cut and long belt life. This belt is compatible with multiple belt sanding tools, including wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels, smoothing metal sheet edges, or adding grain patterns to stainless steel, edge sanders for flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and portable sanders for blending wood pieces like cabinet doors.
