The 3M™ cloth belt 302D measures 2" x 132" with a P220 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It features an open coat construction that helps channel sanding dust away from the belt and work piece, enhancing visibility and belt performance. The abrasive and cloth backing are resin bonded to ensure the belt runs efficiently until the abrasive is fully worn. Designed for operations requiring added flexibility, the belt uses aluminum oxide mineral, valued for its cut-rate, durability, and long life, suitable for a wide variety of materials in woodworking and metalworking including ferrous alloys. The resin bond creates a strong adhesion that withstands high heat and pressure. The open coat design spaces abrasive grains apart to prevent loading from wood or paint dust clogging the abrasive points, allowing for a more aggressive cut compared to closed coat abrasives of the same grade. These belts come in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, with wider belts for flat finishing on wide belt sanders, medium-width belts for weld removal or feed-thru finishing, and narrow belts for grinding, finishing, or right angle corner work.
