The 3M™ cloth belt 302D measures 2" x 132" and features P400 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with an open coat construction designed to channel sanding dust away from both the belt and work piece, enhancing visibility and belt performance. The abrasive particles are resin bonded to the cloth backing, which provides a strong bond capable of withstanding high heat and pressure, ensuring the belt runs until the abrasive is fully worn. This belt is recommended for operations requiring added flexibility and is suitable for a variety of materials including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking applications. Its open coat design spaces abrasive grains apart to prevent loading caused by wood or paint dust, offering a more aggressive cut than closed coat abrasives of the same grade. The belt is available in various widths and lengths to fit industrial belt sanders including wide belts for wide belt sanders used in flat finishing and smoothing metal sheets, medium-width belts for backstands or feed-thru style flat finishers, and narrow belts for backstands or file tools for finishing right-angle corners.
