The 3M™ Cloth Belt 302D measures 2" x 132" and features an 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with an open coat construction that channels sanding dust away from the belt and work piece to enhance visibility and belt performance. The resin-bonded abrasive and cloth backing provide durability and allow the belt to run until the abrasive is fully worn. This belt is recommended for operations needing added flexibility and is suitable for woodworking and metalworking applications, including ferrous alloys. The aluminum oxide abrasive is well known for its cutting rate, durability, and long life, and is bonded with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. The open coat design spaces abrasive grains apart to reduce loading from dust and debris, resulting in a more aggressive cut compared to closed coat abrasives of the same grit. This belt is compatible with various belt sanding tools and is part of 3M’s broad selection designed to fit industrial belt sanders of various widths, whether wide belts for flat finishing metal sheets, medium-width belts for weld removal or finishing sheets and coils, or narrow belts for grinding and finishing in tight corners.
