The 3M™ Cloth Belt 340D measures 36" x 75" and features 60 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains. It is an open coat, premium-grade aluminum oxide cloth belt designed for durability and aggressive stock removal, resisting loading, and suitable for a variety of applications on wood and metal. Recommended uses include wide belt sanding, edge sanding, or portable belt sanding. The fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains are resin-bonded to a durable cotton cloth backing, providing continuous cut and long life. The open coat and load-resistant coating make this belt ideal for sanding soft woods, and its washable backing is suitable for high production environments where belts require washing at intervals to remove resin or pitch buildup. Aluminum oxide mineral is commonly used in industrial abrasives due to its cut-rate, durability, and long life, and it is effective on woodworking, metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles adhered with resin create a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure.
