The 3M™ cloth belt 302D measures 3" x 132" and features P100 grit aluminum oxide with an open coat construction that helps channel sanding dust away from the belt and workpiece for improved visibility and belt performance. The abrasive and cloth backing are resin bonded to ensure the belt runs until the abrasive is fully worn. Designed for operations requiring added flexibility, this aluminum oxide mineral abrasive is durable and long-lasting, suitable for use on a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are adhered with resin to withstand high heat and pressure during use. The open coat construction spaces the abrasive grains to prevent loading from wood or paint dust, enabling dust and debris to escape, which also results in a more aggressive cut than comparable closed coat abrasives of the same grade. The belt is compatible with industrial belt sanders of various widths and lengths, including wide belts for flat finishing and smoothing rough edges of metal sheets or adding grain patterns to stainless steel, medium-width belts for weld removal or finishing sheets and coils, and narrow belts for grinding and finishing in corners or on backstand tools. Typical applications include blending, deburring, fine finishing, and radiusing in metalworking and building tasks. The product includes a warranty under standard 3M terms.
