The 3M™ Cloth Belt 341D measures 2" x 60" and features P150 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable x-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for aggressive dry sanding applications on metal. It provides continuous cut and long-life performance, with a closed coat construction that offers a consistent, fine finish suitable for producing grain patterns. This belt is not intended for wet use. The aluminum oxide mineral is known for its cut-rate, durability, and long life, making it effective on a variety of materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys; it is a commonly used industrial abrasive. The abrasive particles are adhered to the cloth backing with a resin bond that withstands high heat and pressure. 3M offers belts in various widths and lengths compatible with multiple belt sanding tools for diverse applications: wide belts for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and smooth metal sheet edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders on narrow flat surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders suited for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors. The belts come with different splice types such as a film media splice that creates a secure bond with a joining film to minimize chatter marks and ensure smooth running and consistent finishing, or a sine wave splice made of interlocking fingers designed to travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and add joint area strength.
