The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 37" x 75" and features 36 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for metal deburring, general metalworking, and certain woodworking applications. It is suitable for wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanding on metal substrates and wood, providing fast-cutting performance for more aggressive dry sanding. The closed coat construction offers a consistent fine finish and is appropriate for producing grain patterns on metal, but the belt should not be run wet. The aluminum oxide mineral is widely used for its cut-rate, durability, and long life, effectively working on ferrous alloys and a variety of materials. The abrasive particles are securely adhered with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. The belt is designed for various sanding tools: wider belts for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and metal sheets, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders to sand or blend wood pieces. This product includes a film media splice that creates a secure bond with a joining film to minimize chatter marks and ensure a smooth operation.
