The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 37" x 75" and features 40 grit aluminum oxide, designed for metal deburring, general metalworking, and some woodworking applications. It is suitable for use with wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanders on metal substrates and wood. The belt incorporates fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, providing continuous cut and long-life performance for aggressive dry sanding. Its closed coat construction delivers a consistent fine finish and is ideal for producing grain patterns on metal, although the belt should not be used wet. Aluminum oxide is favored industrially for its cutting efficiency, durability, and long life, and is effective on a variety of materials including ferrous alloys. The resin bond secures abrasive particles to the cloth backing, enabling resistance to high heat and pressure. Available in various widths and lengths to accommodate different belt sanding tools, wider belts are used for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal sheet edges, medium-width belts are used on edge sanders for sanding narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts work with portable sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces like cabinet doors. Belts feature splices such as film media splices for secure bonding and minimal chatter marks, ensuring smooth operation. Warranty terms apply as per 3M standards.
