The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 37" x 75" with a P100 grit aluminum oxide abrasive designed for metal deburring, general metalworking, and some woodworking applications. It is suitable for use with wide belt sanders, edge sanders, or portable belt sanders on metal substrates and wood. The belt features fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, providing continuous cut and long-life performance for more aggressive dry sanding tasks. Its closed coat construction offers a consistent, fine finish ideal for producing grain patterns on metal surfaces, and it should not be run wet. The aluminum oxide mineral is commonly used industrially for its cut-rate, durability, and versatility on materials including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. The belt's dimensions of 37" width by 75" length allow it to fit a variety of sanding tools, from wide belt sanders for finishing wood panels and smoothing metal edges to medium and narrow-width belts used on edge and portable sanders respectively. Various belt splices, including film media splices, ensure secure bonding of belt ends while minimizing chatter marks during operation.
