The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 25" x 60" and features 40 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for metal deburring, general metalworking, and some woodworking applications. It is suitable for wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanding on various metal substrates and wood. The belt includes fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains with a closed coat construction that offers a consistent, fine finish ideal for producing a grain pattern on metal. The aluminum oxide mineral provides continuous cut and long-life performance necessary for more aggressive dry sanding applications but should not be run wet. This abrasive is adhered to the cloth backing with resin to create a strong bond capable of withstanding high heat and pressure. The belt is compatible with multiple belt sanding tools and is available in different widths and lengths to fit industrial belt sanders for wide belt sanding to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough metal edges, or add grain patterns to stainless steel, as well as edge sanding for flat, narrow surfaces, and portable sanding or blending on smaller wood pieces. The belts use various splices, including a film media splice, which achieves a secure bond with a joining film that minimizes chatter marks and ensures smooth operation.
