The 3M™ cloth belt 341D, measuring 25" x 60" with P120 grit aluminum oxide, is a durable abrasive belt designed for metal deburring, general metalworking, and some woodworking applications. It is suitable for use with wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanders on metal substrates and wood. The belt features fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a strong X-weight cotton cloth backing, providing continuous cutting and long-life performance for aggressive dry sanding tasks. Its closed coat construction is ideal for finishing on metal, delivering a consistent fine finish and suitable for producing grain patterns. The belt should not be used wet. Aluminum oxide mineral is widely used for its cutting rate, durability, and longevity across a variety of materials including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. The belt dimensions of 25 inches by 60 inches accommodate various sanding tools, with wider belts used for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and metal sheets, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders on wood pieces. The belts are also available with various splices, such as a film media splice, which ensures a secure bond with minimal chatter marks for smooth operation.
