The 3M™ Cloth Belt 341D measures 37 inches by 75 inches and features P120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for metal deburring, general metalworking, and some woodworking applications. It is compatible with wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanders and is used for a variety of metal and wood substrates. The fast-cutting aluminum oxide mineral offers continuous cut and long-life performance for more aggressive dry sanding; it is resin-bonded to withstand high heat and pressure. The belt has a closed coat construction suitable for finishing on metal by producing a consistent, fine finish and grain pattern; however, it should not be run wet. Aluminum oxide is widely used industrially due to its cut rate, durability, and versatility on materials such as ferrous alloys. Belts come in various widths and lengths for different sanding tools and applications: wider belts for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and smooth metal edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable sanders on smaller wood pieces like cabinet doors. The belt includes various splices, including a film media splice that secures the belt ends with a joining film to minimize chatter marks and ensure a smooth operation.
