It is an open coat product utilizing a premium grade aluminum oxide mineral that provides improved cut and abrasive life. The belt has a heavyweight cloth backing, making it suitable for both rough sanding and final finishing on wide belt and edge sanding applications, particularly coarser grades. The open coat construction combined with an anti-static treatment reduces loading to enhance the cut rate and optimize abrasive life in woodworking. The washable backing is designed to handle wood with high pitch or resin content, such as pine, which typically causes quick loading of belts. The resin bond used in this belt withstands high heat and pressure, contributing to longer service life.
