The 3M™ cloth belt 340D is a 43" x 75" P220 grit aluminum oxide abrasive belt designed for aggressive stock removal and durability on wood and metal surfaces. This open coat, premium grade aluminum oxide cloth belt features fast-cutting abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable cotton cloth backing, providing continuous cutting performance and long life. The belt includes a washable backing suitable for high production environments requiring periodic cleaning to remove soft wood resin or pitch buildup. The aluminum oxide mineral offers high cut rate, durability, and heat and pressure resistance, making it ideal for woodworking and metalworking applications, including ferrous alloys. It is compatible with wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal edges, edge sanders for flat, narrow surfaces, and portable belt sanders for blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors. The belt uses a film media splice that securely bonds the belt ends to minimize chatter marks and ensure a smooth sanding operation. Warranty terms apply as specified by 3M.
