The 3M™ cloth belt 341D 2" x 72" P240 grit aluminum oxide features fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable x-weight cotton cloth backing, providing continuous cut and long-life performance for more aggressive dry sanding applications. Designed for finishing on metal, the closed coat construction offers a consistent, fine finish and is suitable for producing a grain pattern. This belt is not intended for wet use. Aluminum oxide is known for its cut-rate, durability, and long life and is widely used on various materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are strongly bonded to the cloth backing with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. The belt dimensions are 2 inches wide by 72 inches long, suitable for use on various belt sanding tools. The belts come with different splices, such as film media splices for a secure bond that minimizes chatter marks and ensures smooth operation, and sine wave splices with interlocking fingers for smooth travel over contact wheels, reduced hinging, and added joint strength, commonly used for coarser grits.
