The 3M™ cloth belt 361F measures 6" x 148" and features P120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavy polyester cloth backing. The belt is constructed with a durable, heat-resistant resin that supports both wet and dry applications. Grades of P100 and lower use YF-weight polyester backing, while grades higher than P100 utilize a slightly less stiff XF-weight polyester. Aluminum oxide is favored for its fast cutting rate, durability, and long life, making it suitable for a wide range of materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys, and is the most commonly used industrial abrasive. The abrasive particles are bonded to the cloth backing with resin to ensure a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure. The belts come in various widths and lengths to fit different industrial belt sanders, with wider belts intended for wide belt sanders for flat finishing or adding grain patterns to metal sheets, medium-width belts used on backstands or feed-thru style flat finishers for weld removal or finishing sheets and coils, and narrow belts suitable for backstands or file tools for finishing in tight or right-angle corners. The primary applications are in metalworking.
