The 3M™ cloth belt 361F measures 6 inches by 48 inches and features 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to heavy polyester cloth backing. It utilizes a durable, heat-resistant resin that supports both wet and dry applications, with grades P100 and lower backed by YF-weight polyester, and grades higher than P100 backed by slightly less stiff XF-weight polyester. The aluminum oxide mineral is known for its fast cutting rate, durability, and long life, suitable for use on various materials including ferrous alloys, making it a preferred industrial abrasive. The abrasive particles are bonded strongly to the cloth backing to withstand high heat and pressure. These belts come in various widths and lengths to fit industrial belt sanding tools for metalworking applications: wider belts for wide belt sanders for flat finishing and smoothing rough cut edges or adding grain patterns to stainless steel sheets; medium-width belts for backstand weld removal or feed-thru flat finishing on sheets or coils; and narrow belts for grinding and finishing on backstands or file tools for finishing right angle corners. The primary application is metalworking.
