The 3M™ cloth belt 361F measures 6" x 60" and features 60 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavy polyester cloth backing. It includes a durable, heat-resistant resin that supports both wet and dry applications. Grades P100 and lower use YF-weight polyester backing, while grades higher than P100 utilize a slightly less stiff XF-weight polyester backing. The aluminum oxide mineral provides fast cutting, durability, and long life, suitable for a wide variety of materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded to the cloth backing with resin, creating a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure. The belts come in various widths and lengths to fit different belt sanding tools for metalworking applications: wider belts for wide belt sanders for flat finishing and smoothing rough cut edges or adding grain patterns to stainless steel sheets, medium-width belts for backstands or feed-thru style flat finishers for weld removal and finishing sheets or coils, and narrow belts for backstands or file tools for grinding and finishing in right angle corners. The primary applications are metalworking.
