The 3M™ Cloth Belt 341D measures 3-1/2" x 15-1/2" and features P180 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, providing continuous cut and long-life performance for more aggressive dry sanding applications. Designed for finishing on metal, the closed coat construction offers a consistent fine finish and is suitable for producing a grain pattern. This belt is intended for dry use only and should not be run wet. The aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in industrial settings for its cut rate, durability, and long life, and can be applied on various materials including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. The abrasive particles are adhered with resin bonding to withstand high heat and pressure. The belt fits various industrial belt sanders, with widths and lengths suitable for applications ranging from wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal edges, to edge sanders for flat narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable sanders used on wood pieces such as cabinet doors. Belt splices include options such as film media splices, which provide a secure bond with a joining film to minimize chatter marks and ensure smooth running, and sine wave splices, constructed with interlocking fingers to travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and strengthen the joint area.
