The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 1" x 42" and features P150 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for continuous cut and long-life performance in more aggressive dry sanding applications. It is intended for finishing on metal using a closed coat construction that offers a consistent, fine finish and is suitable for producing a grain pattern; it should not be run wet. The aluminum oxide mineral provides high cut-rate, durability, and long life, and is effective on various materials including woodworking and metalworking applications with ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded to the backing with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. These belts come in multiple widths and lengths to fit various industrial belt sanders: wider belts for wide belt sanders used to dimension or finish wood panels and smooth metal sheet edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders used on flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable sanders used on smaller wood pieces. Belt ends are joined using various splices, including film media splices that minimize chatter marks and ensure smooth running belts and sine wave splices that feature interlocking fingers to enable smooth travel over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and strengthen the joint area, typically used for coarser grits. The product includes warranty terms consistent with 3M standards.
