The 3M™ 60440201469 cloth belt 341D measures 1" x 42" and features P100 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded with resin to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for continuous cut and long-life performance in aggressive dry sanding applications. It is intended for metal finishing with a closed coat construction that delivers a consistent, fine finish and is suitable for producing a grain pattern; this belt should not be run wet. The aluminum oxide mineral provides excellent cut-rate, durability, and long life on a variety of materials including ferrous alloys, making it a widely used industrial abrasive. Abrasive particles are resin-adhered to withstand high heat and pressure. The belt is part of a range that includes various widths and lengths to fit different belt sanding tools: wider belts are used on wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing rough metal edges, medium-width belts fit edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts work with portable sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces. Splice options include film media splices, which minimize chatter marks and ensure smooth operation, and sine wave splices, constructed with interlocking fingers to travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and strengthen the joint area.
