The 3M™ Cloth Belt 341D measures 3" x 120" and features 36 grit fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable x-weight cotton cloth backing, designed to provide continuous cut and long-life performance for aggressive dry sanding applications. It is intended for finishing on metal with a closed coat construction that offers a consistent, fine finish and is suitable for producing a grain pattern. The belt is not to be run wet. The aluminum oxide mineral is popular in industrial settings for its cut-rate, durability, and long life, usable on various materials including woodworking, metalworking, and ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded with resin to the cloth backing, creating a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure. The belt’s dimensions and compatibility allow its use on a variety of belt sanding tools across wood and metal applications, with different belt widths fitting wide belt sanders, edge sanders, and portable belt sanders for work on wood panels, metal sheets, and cabinet doors respectively. Splice options include a film media splice with a joining film to minimize chatter marks and ensure smooth running, and a sine wave splice with interlocking fingers to travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and provide joint strength. The product includes a warranty covering terms consistent with 3M industrial abrasive belts.
