The 3M™ Cloth Belt 341D measures 3" x 24" and features P100 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for continuous cutting and long-life performance in aggressive dry sanding applications. It is intended for finishing on metal, providing a consistent fine finish with closed coat construction, suitable for producing grain patterns, and should not be used wet. Aluminum oxide is a widely used industrial abrasive due to its cut-rate, durability, and long life, effective on a variety of materials including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. The abrasive particles are bonded with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit different belt sanding tools; wider belts are used with wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal sheet edges, medium-width belts fit edge sanders for sanding flat narrow surfaces like panel edges, and narrow belts are for portable belt sanders suited to sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors. Belt splices include film media splices, which secure the belt ends with a joining film to minimize chatter marks and ensure smooth running and consistent finishing, and sine wave splices, made of interlocking fingers that travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and add strength to the joint area. The product includes a warranty covering defects in material and workmanship for the specified period, ensuring reliable performance under recommended use conditions.
