The 3M™ Cloth Belt 341D measures 3 inches by 72 inches and features 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for fast cutting and long-life performance in more aggressive dry sanding applications. It is intended for metal finishing, offering a consistent, fine finish with its closed coat construction, suitable for producing a grain pattern, but should not be used wet. The aluminum oxide mineral is favored for its cut rate, durability, and versatility on various materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys, and is the most commonly used industrial abrasive. The abrasive particles are bonded to the cloth backing with resin that withstands high heat and pressure. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths for use with different belt sanding tools across multiple applications on wood and metal. Wide belts accommodate wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels, smoothing metal sheet edges, or adding grain patterns to stainless steel sheets.
