The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 50" x 126" and features P400 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for metal deburring, general metalworking, and some woodworking applications. It is suitable for use with wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanding tools on metal substrates and wood. The belt's closed coat construction delivers a consistent fine finish for metal, producing a grain pattern, and is intended for dry sanding only, not to be used wet. Aluminum oxide abrasive is known for its cutting rate, durability, and long life, making it suitable for a variety of materials, including ferrous alloys. The resin bond ensures the abrasive particles adhere strongly to the cloth backing, withstanding high heat and pressure typical of aggressive sanding applications. The belt is available in various widths and lengths to fit a wide range of industrial belt sanders: wider belts for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal edges, medium widths for sanding panel edges, and narrow belts for portable sanding and blending on wood pieces like cabinet doors. The belt ends are joined with splices such as film media splices to provide a secure bond and minimize chatter marks during operation.
