The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 2" x 48" with P120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable x-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for fast cutting and continuous cut with long-life performance in aggressive dry sanding applications. It features a closed coat construction suitable for metal finishing, producing a consistent fine finish and grain pattern, and should not be used wet. The aluminum oxide mineral offers durability and long life for use on a variety of materials including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking. The abrasive grains are strongly bonded to the cloth backing with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. These belts come in various widths and lengths to fit different belt sanding tools; wider belts are for wide belt sanders used in dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal sheet edges, medium-width belts are for edge sanders on flat surfaces like panel edges, and narrow belts are for portable sanders used on wood pieces such as cabinet doors. The belts include different splice types—film media splices provide a secure bond with joining film to minimize chatter marks and ensure smooth running, while sine wave splices feature interlocking fingers for smooth travel over contact wheels, reduced hinging, and added joint strength.
