The 3M™ cloth belt 340D measures 52" x 103" with 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains, featuring a resin-bonded, fast-cutting aluminum oxide mineral on a durable cotton cloth backing designed for continuous cut and long life. This open coat premium grade belt resists loading and is especially suitable for sanding soft woods, making it ideal for applications such as wide belt sanding, edge sanding, and portable belt sanding on wood and metal, including ferrous alloys. The washable backing supports high production environments where belts may require periodic washing to remove resin or pitch buildup. The aluminum oxide abrasive particles are adhered with a strong resin bond that withstands high heat and pressure. Various belt widths cater to different sanding tools and purposes: wider belts for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels or smooth metal edges, medium widths for edge sanders on flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders to sand or blend wood pieces.
