The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 37" x 60" and features 60 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains that are resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, providing continuous cut and long-life performance for more aggressive dry sanding applications. It is designed for metal deburring, general metalworking, and some woodworking uses on ferrous alloys and other metal substrates as well as wood. The belt is suitable for wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanding tools and is available in various widths and lengths to fit most industrial belt sanders, allowing for dimensioning or finishing wood panels, smoothing metal sheet edges, adding grain patterns to stainless steel, sanding flat narrow surfaces like panel edges, or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors. The closed coat construction ensures a consistent, fine finish for metal finishing and grain pattern production but the belt should not be used wet. Abrasive particles adhere to the cloth backing to withstand high heat and pressure, making the aluminum oxide mineral a popular choice due to its cut rate, durability, and long life. Belt ends are joined using various splices, including film media splices that secure the bond with joining film to minimize chatter marks and ensure a smooth sanding surface.
