The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 37" x 60" and features P100 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains that are resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, providing aggressive dry sanding performance with continuous cut and long life. This belt is designed for metal deburring, general metalworking, and some woodworking tasks, suitable for use with wide belt, edge, or portable belt sanders on metal substrates and wood. The closed coat construction delivers a consistent, fine finish ideal for metal finishing and producing a grain pattern, but the belt should not be used wet. Aluminum oxide is favored in industrial applications for its cutting efficiency, durability, and longevity, and it works effectively on a variety of materials including ferrous alloys. The resin bond withstands high heat and pressure during sanding. Available in various widths, the belts fit different sanding tools: wide belts are used for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and metal sheets; medium-width belts are for edge sanders on flat or narrow surfaces; narrow belts are suitable for portable sanders on wood pieces. The belt ends are joined using film media splices to ensure a secure bond, reduce chatter, and maintain smooth sanding.
