The 3M™ cloth belt 361F measures 1-1/2" x 3-1/7" and features fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavy polyester cloth backing. Its durable, heat-resistant resin supports both wet and dry applications. Grades of P100 and lower use YF-weight polyester backing, while grades higher than P100 use a slightly less stiff XF-weight polyester backing. The aluminum oxide mineral is favored for its cutting rate, durability, and long life and is suitable for a wide variety of woodworking and metalworking materials, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded to the cloth backing with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. The belts come in various widths and lengths for use with different belt sanding tools, including wide belts for wide belt sanders designed to smooth rough cut edges or add grain patterns to stainless steel sheets, medium-width belts for backstand weld removal or feed-thru flat finishing on sheets or coils, and narrow belts for backstand grinding and finishing or use on file tools for finishing right angle corners.
