The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 4 inches by 48 inches and features 60 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable x-weight cotton cloth backing, offering fast-cutting performance with continuous cut and long life suitable for aggressive dry sanding applications. It is designed for finishing on metal with a closed coat construction that provides a consistent, fine finish and is effective in producing a grain pattern; the belt is not intended for wet use. The aluminum oxide abrasive is widely used in industrial settings due to its cutting rate, durability, and versatility across woodworking and metalworking, particularly on ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded to the cloth backing with resin for a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure. Available in various widths and lengths, these belts are compatible with different belt sanding tools for multiple applications, including wide belts for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and smooth metal edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders to sand narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts for portable sanders used on wood pieces like cabinet doors.
