The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 3 inches by 132 inches and features 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains that are resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, providing continuous cut and long-life performance for more aggressive dry sanding applications. It is designed for finishing on metal with a closed coat construction that offers a consistent, fine finish suitable for producing a grain pattern, but it should not be used wet. The aluminum oxide mineral is highly durable and effective for cutting a wide variety of materials including ferrous alloys, making it a commonly used industrial abrasive. The abrasive particles are securely bonded to the cloth backing with resin, allowing the belt to withstand high heat and pressure. These abrasive belts come in multiple widths and lengths to accommodate various belt sanding tools and applications on wood and metal. Wider belts are designed for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth metal sheet edges, or add grain patterns to stainless steel, while medium-width belts fit edge sanders for flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges.
