The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 3" x 132" and features P120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded with resin to a durable x-weight cotton cloth backing, providing fast-cutting action, continuous cut, and long-life performance for more aggressive dry sanding applications. It is designed for finishing on metal with a closed coat construction that offers a consistent, fine finish suitable for producing a grain pattern, and it should not be used wet. Aluminum oxide is commonly used in industrial settings for its cut rate, durability, and long life on various materials including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. The abrasive particles are firmly adhered to the cloth backing to withstand high heat and pressure. Belt sanding tools utilize various belt widths and lengths for different sanding tasks; wider belts are used with wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels and smoothing metal sheet edges, medium-width belts fit onto edge sanders for sanding flat, narrow surfaces like panel edges, and narrow belts are suited for portable belt sanders used in blending and sanding small wood pieces such as cabinet doors.
