The 3M™ 341D Cloth Belt, measuring 3" x 98" with an 80 grit aluminum oxide, is designed for use in various industries, including builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating & polishing, plumbing fixtures, primary wood and panel processing, and turbine engines. It is suitable for applications such as blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, deburring, descaling, edge sanding, fine finishing, flat finishing, gate removal, grinding, intermediate finishing, mill scale removal, parting line removal, and radius shaping. Constructed with fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains that are resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, this belt provides continuous cut and long-life performance essential for aggressive dry sanding applications. The closed coat construction enables a consistent and fine finish, making it especially effective for producing a grain pattern on metal surfaces; however, it is not recommended for wet use. Aluminum oxide is favored by industrial professionals due to its excellent cut-rate, durability, and longevity, and it performs well on a variety of materials, including ferrous alloys. The strong bond created by resin adherence allows the abrasive particles to withstand high heat and pressure, making this belt versatile for use on numerous sanding tools across different applications.
