The 3M™ cloth belt 361F measures 4" x 168" and features P150 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavy polyester cloth backing. It includes a durable, heat-resistant resin suitable for both wet and dry applications. Grades of P100 and lower use YF-weight polyester backing, while grades higher than P100 utilize a slightly less stiff XF-weight polyester backing. The aluminum oxide mineral offers fast cutting, durability, and long life, making it suitable for a wide variety of materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded to the cloth backing with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. These abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths to fit multiple belt sanding tools used in metalworking; wider belts are designed for wide belt sanders for flat finishing and smoothing rough cut edges or adding grain patterns to stainless steel sheets, medium-width belts are used on backstands for weld removal or feed-thru style flat finishers, and narrow belts are used on backstands for grinding and finishing or on file tools for finishing in right-angle corners. The primary applications are metalworking.
