The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 6" x 132" and features P100 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for fast cutting and long-life performance for more aggressive dry sanding applications. It is suitable for finishing on metal with its closed coat construction that offers a consistent, fine finish and is ideal for producing a grain pattern; however, it should not be used wet. The aluminum oxide mineral provides excellent cut-rate, durability, and longevity, making it effective on a wide range of materials including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. The abrasive particles are securely bonded to the cloth backing with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. These abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths to fit multiple belt sanding tools for different applications on wood and metal. Wide belts are designed for wide belt sanders used to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth rough metal edges, or add grain patterns to stainless steel sheets; medium-width belts fit edge sanders for sanding flat or narrow surfaces like panel edges; narrow belts are compatible with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood components such as cabinet doors. Belt splices vary, including film media splices that provide a secure bond with a joining film to minimize chatter marks, ensure smooth running belts, and consistent finishing results, and sine wave splices consisting of interlocking fingers that travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and add joint strength. The product comes with a warranty covering defects in material and workmanship under normal use.
