The 3M™ Cloth Belt 361F measures 9" x 60" and features P150 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavy polyester cloth backing. The durable, heat-resistant resin coating supports both wet and dry applications. Belts with grades of P100 and lower are backed with YF-weight polyester, while those with grades higher than P100 use the slightly less stiff XF-weight polyester backing. The aluminum oxide mineral provides fast-cutting capability, durability, and long life, making it suitable for a wide variety of materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are adhered to the cloth backing with a resin that creates a strong bond capable of withstanding high heat and pressure. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit many industrial belt sanders. Wide belts are intended for wide belt sanders to achieve flat finishing, smooth rough-cut metal edges, or add grain patterns to stainless steel sheets; medium-width belts are used on backstands for weld removal or on feed-thru style flat finishers to impart finishes on sheets or coils; narrow belts serve on backstands for grinding and finishing or on file tools for finishing right-angle corners.
