The 3M™ cloth belt 361F with dimensions of 9" x 60" features P220 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavy polyester cloth backing. The belt includes fast-cutting aluminum oxide mineral, known for its cut-rate, durability, and long life, suitable for a variety of materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded to the cloth backing with a durable, heat-resistant resin that supports both wet and dry applications. Grades P100 and lower use YF-weight polyester backing, while grades higher than P100 use XF-weight polyester backing, which is slightly less stiff. These abrasive belts are compatible with various belt sanding tools and come in widths and lengths to fit a range of industrial belt sanders. Wide belts are designed for wide belt sanders for flat finishing and smoothing rough metal sheet edges or adding grain patterns to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts are used on backstands for weld removal or feed-thru flat finishers to impart finish on sheets or coils, while narrow belts are used on backstands for grinding and finishing or on file tools for finishing right angle corners. The primary applications are metalworking.
