The belt is designed for finishing metal with a closed coat construction that provides a consistent, fine finish suitable for producing a grain pattern and is not intended for wet use. Aluminum oxide mineral, known for its cut rate, durability, and long life, is effective on various materials including ferrous alloys commonly found in woodworking and metalworking. The resin bond ensures the abrasive particles adhere strongly to the cloth backing, withstanding high heat and pressure. These abrasive belts come in multiple widths and lengths to fit a range of belt sanding tools for different applications; wider belts are used on wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and metal sheets, medium-width belts suit edge sanders for sanding flat or narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts are compatible with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces like cabinet doors.
