The 3M™ Cloth Belt 361F measures 4" x 36" and features 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavy polyester cloth backing. It utilizes a durable, heat-resistant resin that supports both wet and dry applications. Grades P100 and lower are backed with YF-weight polyester, while grades higher than P100 use slightly less stiff XF-weight polyester. The aluminum oxide mineral provides fast-cutting performance, durability, and long life on a wide variety of materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded to the cloth with resin, creating a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure. Available in various widths and lengths, the belts fit most industrial belt sanders. Wider belts are designed for wide belt sanders used in flat finishing, smoothing rough cut edges of metal sheets, or adding grain patterns to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts are typically used on backstands for weld removal or on feed-thru style flat finishers for finishing sheets or coils. Narrow belts are suitable for backstand grinding and finishing or for use on file tools to finish right-angle corners. The primary applications for this cloth belt are metalworking.
