The 3M™ cloth belt 361F measures 4" x 60" and features P220 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavy polyester cloth backing. The durable, heat-resistant resin supports both wet and dry applications. Grades of P100 and lower use YF-weight polyester backing, while grades higher than P100 utilize a slightly less stiff XF-weight polyester backing. Aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in industrial applications for its fast cutting rate, durability, and long lifespan, suitable for various materials including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. The abrasive particles are adhered to the cloth backing with a resin bond that withstands high heat and pressure. These abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths to fit multiple belt sanding tools for metalworking, with wider belts designed for wide belt sanders for flat finishing and smoothing rough metal edges, medium-width belts for backstand weld removal or feed-thru flat finishing on sheets or coils, and narrow belts for grinding and finishing on backstands or file tools for corners. The primary applications are metalworking.
