The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 4" x 106" and features P120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable x-weight cotton cloth backing, designed for continuous cut and long-life performance in more aggressive dry sanding applications. It is suited for finishing on metal with closed coat construction that offers a consistent, fine finish and is ideal for producing a grain pattern; this belt should not be run wet. The aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in industrial settings due to its cut-rate, durability, and long life, suitable for a variety of materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded to the cloth backing with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. Abrasive belts come in different widths and lengths for various belt sanding tools; wider belts are used with wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing wood panels, smoothing rough metal edges, or adding grain patterns to stainless steel, while medium-width belts fit edge sanders for flat, narrow surface sanding like panel edges, and narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces like cabinet doors. Belts include various splice options like film media splice, which uses a joining film to minimize chatter marks and ensure smooth operation for consistent finishing, and sine wave splice, constructed of interlocking fingers to travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and provide added strength to the joint area. The product is intended for dry sanding only and comes with standard industrial warranty terms.
