The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 10" x 90" and features a 50 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It is made with fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, providing continuous cut and long-life performance for aggressive dry sanding applications. The belt's closed coat construction offers a consistent, fine finish suitable for producing a grain pattern on metal. It is not designed for wet use. Aluminum oxide is widely used industrially due to its cutting rate, durability, and longevity, suitable for woodworking and metalworking on various materials, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded to the backing with resin, enabling the belt to withstand high heat and pressure. The belt is compatible with various industrial sanding tools and comes in various widths and lengths to fit wide belt sanders for dimensioning or finishing, medium widths for edge sanding flat narrow surfaces, and narrow widths for portable sanding or blending applications. The belts feature different splice options, including a film media splice that secures the bond with a joining film to minimize chatter marks and ensure smooth running, and a sine wave splice with interlocking fingers designed to travel smoothly over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and strengthen the joint area.
