The 3M™ cloth belt 341D 4" x 132" 60 grit aluminum oxide features fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, providing continuous cut and long-life performance ideal for more aggressive dry sanding applications. It is designed for finishing on metal with a closed coat construction that delivers a consistent, fine finish and is suitable for producing a grain pattern; this belt should not be run wet. The aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in industrial applications due to its cut-rate, durability, and long life, working on various materials including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. The abrasive particles are bonded with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. Available in multiple widths and lengths, these belts fit various belt sanding tools for diverse wood and metal applications: wider belts for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels or smooth rough metal edges, medium-width belts for edge sanders on flat, narrow surfaces, and narrow belts for portable belt sanders used in sanding or blending wood pieces. The belts incorporate various splices such as film media splice, which offers a secure bond with a joining film that minimizes chatter marks and ensures smooth running and consistent finishing, or a sine wave splice constructed with interlocking fingers to allow smooth travel over contact wheels, reduce hinging, and strengthen the joint area.
