The 3M™ cloth belt 361F measures 3" x 2-3/4" and features P120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavy polyester cloth backing. The durable, heat-resistant resin bond supports both wet and dry applications. Grades of P100 and lower utilize YF-weight polyester backing, while grades above P100 employ a slightly less stiff XF-weight polyester backing. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its fast cutting rate, durability, and long life, making it suitable for a wide range of materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are securely adhered with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. These abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths to fit different belt sanding tools used in diverse metalworking applications, with wide belts designed for wide belt sanders to smooth rough edges or add grain patterns to metal sheets, medium-width belts used on backstands or feed-thru finishers for weld removal and finishing, and narrow belts suited for grinding and finishing in tight corners on backstands or file tools.
