The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 3-1/2" x 15-1/2" and features P100 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains that are resin-bonded to a durable x-weight cotton cloth backing, delivering continuous cut and long-life performance for aggressive dry sanding applications. It is designed for finishing on metal with a closed coat construction that provides a consistent, fine finish suitable for producing a grain pattern and should not be used wet. The aluminum oxide mineral is durable, offers a high cut rate, and is effective on a wide variety of materials including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking. The resin bond ensures the abrasive particles withstand high heat and pressure. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit a range of belt sanding tools: wider belts for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels, smooth metal sheet edges, or add grain patterns to stainless steel; medium-width belts fit edge sanders for flat, narrow surfaces like panel edges; and narrow belts are used with portable belt sanders for blending or sanding wood pieces such as cabinet doors. The belts include different splice types for joining ends, with film media splices creating a secure, chatter-minimizing bond for smooth running and consistent finishing, and sine wave splices constructed of interlocking fingers that reduce hinging, increase joint strength, and ensure smooth travel over contact wheels. This product includes a warranty that is consistent with 3M’s standard terms.
