The 3M™ Cloth Belt 361F measures 3 inches by 54 inches and features fast-cutting aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavy polyester cloth backing. This durable, heat-resistant resin backing supports both wet and dry applications, with grades of P100 and lower using YF-weight polyester, while grades higher than P100 utilize a slightly less stiff XF-weight polyester. Aluminum oxide mineral is widely favored in industrial settings for its cutting rate, durability, and long life, suitable for a variety of materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are bonded to the cloth backing with resin, creating a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure. The belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit different belt sanding tools used in multiple metalworking applications. Wide belts are designed for wide belt sanders to smooth rough cut edges or add grain patterns to stainless steel sheets; medium-width belts are used on backstands for weld removal or on feed-thru style flat finishers for finishing sheets or coils; narrow belts can be employed on backstands for grinding and finishing or on file tools for right-angle corner finishing. The primary applications for this product are metalworking.
